Overview
Cascade Studio is building an AI-native production platform for filmmakers, animators, and brand storytellers who need to move from script to finished scene without breaking continuity. Ahead of their Open Beta launch, they needed a high-energy promo capable of introducing a genuinely new category — an end-to-end AI filmmaking pipeline — to an audience used to either raw AI generation tools or traditional editing suites, and to do it in a way that felt premium, credible, and instantly understandable.

Role & Scope
We owned the project end-to-end: turning the client's approved script into a full storyboard, designing the visual system in Figma alongside Cascade's own UI assets, and animating every scene in After Effects. Our goal was to guide viewers from the dashboard through to the Art Board/Playground in one continuous, cinematic journey, so the video reads less like a feature list and more like watching a creator actually build something inside the product.

Discovery
Early research centered on the industry's core anxiety: AI tools that generate beautifully but drift from shot to shot, breaking a story's visual identity. Cascade's strength was the opposite — connected assets, precise manual control, and a workflow built for teams, not solo experiments. That contrast became our throughline. We also mapped the real user flow, from prompt to script to Art Board, so every transition we designed matched an action a filmmaker would genuinely take inside the app.
Concept
We landed on "studio-in-a-box" as the visual metaphor, treating Cascade less like software and more like an actual production stage. Clean UI motion — smooth pans, vector-level zooms, fluid node connections — sits alongside premium 3D cinematic renders, so the product feels equally at home next to a feature film. The tone stays cheeky and self-aware where the copy allows it, but the visuals stay slick and restrained, letting the product's own precision carry the premium feel.
Animation
Pacing builds in waves: brisk, text-driven beats during the dashboard and prompt sequences give way to slower, weightier camera moves once we reach the boy-and-dog sequence and the Art Board. Sound design and music carry most of the narrative load, with a single AI voiceover reserved for the chatbot scene to keep that moment grounded. The result is a 90-second spot that feels less like a tutorial and more like a trailer for what creators can now build.
